Mad Libs Review

Mad Libs is somewhat of a staple party game, to use the term “game” loosely. More of a diversion than much of a game with a set goal in mind, Mad Libs has you co-writing a series of goofy stories by interjecting arbitrary words here and there to give the subject matter a nonsensical vibe. In other words, you simply add random weird words to a previously written story to make for a few good laughs. Now, the fun can be played on your cell thanks to the crew at Vendigo. I’ll add again that this isn’t really much of a game as it is a bit of mindless fun with no set goal other then making you and your buddies laugh (if such things align with your sense of humor).

To reiterate, the point of Mad Libs is to add a series of crazy, non-related words at key point of a story to make a goofy tale. You select from the English lexicon, adding nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives and so on wherever the game sees fit. In the mobile incarnation of this game, you can either create your own words to use or select from a list of randomly generated words to put into the story. Once you are done, you can read the final result and let the hilarity ensue.

Mad Libs Mobile does net you a few new options. If you are pressed for time, but still need a silly story ASAP, you can use the Pick4Me option to have the game automatically choose some words and write the story all itself.  You can also save stories that you feel are real zingers, or keep the originals and replay them later on down the line, or email them to your buddies. New stories are added every month, so the fun never stops.

While its merits as a “game” per se are indeed questionable, Mad Libs Mobile does make for a zany time with everyday words, especially if you and a group of friends are three sheets (or more) to the wind.
