Oops The Elf

Things are not well at the North Pole. Aside from being ridiculously cold, it would seem that Santa Claus, the resident celebrity of the region, has been kidnapped by that nefarious Easter Bunny (rule number one: never trust anyone who leaves dyed chicken eggs in your yard), and it’s up to you to save him and in the process save Christmas.

Oops the Elf is a side-scrolling mobile game from Breakpoint with a definite focus on the holiday season. The game is pretty funny as well, offering up a certain degree of dark comedy with a focus on Christmas. If you’re in the holiday mindset and have a pretty mean sense of humor, then Oops the Elf might be right up your alley.

In Oops the Elf, you play as the titular character in his pursuit to save Santa from a crazed Easter Bunny, who has become insanely jealous due to the huge popularity of Christmas (while I’m personally a big fan of chocolate, I’d have to go with Christmas any day of the week). Being the head of Santa’s security (hmmm, he must’ve had the day off when St. Nick got nabbed), Oops must fight his way through hordes of little green men in holiday garb to get to the Easter Bunny and lay the smack down on him with his candy cane.

The gameplay is standard side-scrolling fare. You move through the game’s 10 levels taking out whatever gets in your way with your trusty candy can. The levels all have a definite “wintery” feel to them, and are pretty easy to navigate.

Graphically, the game looks good, with bright and colorful sprites. The game’s lighthearted and funny style attributes to the cartoony graphics, and the game looks generally really good. The music also fall along the same lines, being cheery and fun.

Oops the Elf is a fun and quirky action game that will tug at your Christmas spirit.
