GenPlay Games Announces the Munch Away Slavery Campaign
50 percent of revenues from the sale of mobile game Muncher going to anti-slavery organizations
GenPlay Games has partnered with the Not For Sale Campaign (www.notforsalecampaign.org) to donate 50% of Muncher revenues. Muncher is a simple and addictive mobile game currently on the following carriers: Sprint, Cingular, Boost, Bell, Virgin and Helio. 50% of the revenues from the sale of Muncher is being donated to five anti-slavery organizations including the International Justice Mission, Hagar International, The Polaris Project, CAST, and Free the Slaves.
Muncher is a fun action/adventure game that is acceptable for any audience. Muncher puts the player into the world of the caterpillars as they try to eat each other to win this year's annual event. Collect power ups to help Muncher survive through 50 stages across a variety of world environments - plantlife, rocks, snow, sand, lava and more. Can you help Muncher win the event and reach 'The Great Transformation'? Bonus stages provide additional gameplay for a change of pace.
"Many of the executives here are very passionate about utilizing business to make an impact, said Michelle Lee, Director of Marketing. "We are very passionate about social causes such as helping orphans and poverty issues – especially when it comes to children. The campaign timing was interesting because many of us individually were beginning to hear and feel burdened about the injustices of modern-day child slavery. The realities of what was happening to defenseless children sold into a life of bonded labor and the price tag put on them for a profit led us to act. We were convinced that in our own small way we could help these children come out of modern-day slavery. That’s when we decided to start this campaign and donate 50% of Muncher revenues."
"Aside from contributing to a great cause, people enjoy playing it. It’s especially fun for women and children. The reviews of the game so far have been great. From a consumer point of view, Muncher is a great way to kill time, be entertained and contribute to a great cause. From our end, the greatest reward is using it to spread awareness of this issue and help free child slaves."
