Capcom Interactive, Inc. Launches Super Puzzle Fighter 2: Network Battle for Mobile
Continuing to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment, Capcom Interactive, Inc. today released Super Puzzle Fighter 2: Network Battle for the mobile platform. Based on the arcade and console classic, the game puts a competitive twist on the classic puzzle game by allowing two players to compete head-to-head via cellular network.
Over the course of three 90 second matches, players maneuver pairs of gems in strategic combinations with the goal of removing them from play by linking like colors together in conjunction with a breaker block. When a player removes gems from their board they are then added to their opponents bin as Counter Gems. This creates a fun and frenetic gameplay experience as both players attempt to keep their bin from filling up while simultaneously trying to fill up their opponent's bin. If a player's bin fills it registers as a knockout, and the player with the fewest number of knockouts wins the match.
Super Puzzle Fighter 2: Network Battle utilizes characters from the hugely popular Street Fighter and Darkstalkers series. At the start of a game, players can choose from one of eight different characters each with unique statistics that effect gameplay such as the type and combinations of blocks that fall. Additionally, as players play the game and rack up victories they can see how their skills stack up with the rest of the pack via the game's online leaderboard.
Since its inception in November of 2005 Capcom Interactive, Inc. has published several games based on Capcom's celebrated intellectual property including 1942, Ghost n' Goblins, Mega Man and Resident Evil: The Missions to commercial and critical acclaim.
